The Okaloosa County Housing Department is made up of focused, solution-minded professiuonals dedicated to responding to the overwhelming housing needs for the County's workforce. Okaloosa County is anticipated to continue its growth due to the influx of military personnel at nearby Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field as well as the contunued migration to the County due to favorable economic conditions and overall attractiveness of the coastal living environment.

This Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Fort Walton Beach Council on issues related to affordable housing and reviews established policies and procedures, ordinances, and regulations and recommends actions or initiatives to encourage or facilitate affordable housing as provided in the Okaloosa County Code Section 11.5-60 and Chapter 420, Florida Statutes.
